STEM_SI

STEM-SI is a 10-week research-intensive training program that bridges long-standing summer programs (REUs, BDSI, ATLSS) across the STEM Community at the University. The structure provides undergraduate researchers, who will work individually or as part of team with one or more faculty members, extensive opportunities for intellectual and professional development that are fully integrated with their research experience. Our objective is to accelerate research capabilities and prepare participating students for leadership roles to address the increasingly complex societal problems requiring solutions that draw on STEM fields.

The STEM-SI program and the University are very interested in attracting underrepresented students, including those from other institutions, as part of our commitment to advance diversity in STEM. The program philosophy builds on the University’s highly successful RARE program, which was implemented and supported with grants from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
