Sports and Recreation


Sports, Recreation Facilities and Summer Camps 

Summer session students are encouraged to use the University’s athletic and recreational facilities, which are available free of charge to anyone with a valid Lehigh ID card.

Taylor Gymnasium contains the Welch Fitness Center, which houses a 10,000 sq. ft. fitness facility including cardiovascular and strength training equipment, with two squash courts, two racquetball courts, the Lane Challenge Climbing Wall.  Also in Taylor Gym are the indoor basketball courts, a dance studio, two swimming pools, and the LU Athletics Penske Hall of Fame.

Weekdays Monday - Friday: The Taylor Gym business hours are 8:30 am to 4:45 pm, excluding University Holidays. Offices and locker rooms are available during these hours.

 Facilities availability and hours are subject to change due to facility demands or staffing adjustments. Call (610) 758-4300 for schedule information.

Basketballs may be checked out at the Fitness Center with a valid Lehigh ID card. Racquet court reservations can be made by calling (610)758-4431. Reservations can be made no earlier than one day in advance.  Racquet equipment can be rented for a nominal fee.

The Murray H. Goodman Campus contains tennis courts, a 5K, 6K, 8K and 10K meter cross country course, an outdoor track and numerous playing fields.  The Mulvihill Golf Learning Center is located on the north side of the Goodman Campus.  The practice range features individual driving stations with target greens, a practice putting green and a chipping green area with sand bunkers.   The driving range has a modest fee for baskets of range balls.

Summer Sports Camps are run through the Sports Camps office located in Room #309 of Taylor Gymnasium.  Lehigh offers a wide variety of camps for all ages – all sports camp, baseball, basketball, rowing, field hockey, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, volleyball, and wrestling.
